TLDR: What’s the fastest legal way to make a lot of money? It depends on your skills, your purpose, your network—and your patience. God often uses the long road to teach us stewardship, wisdom, and faith.
Someone recently asked:
“What’s the quickest legal way to make a lot of money?”
My first reaction? “Define quick… and define a lot.”
Some quick-ish ways come to mind:
A fat bonus or salary (if you’ve got the high-paying job already)
Selling a house and cashing in on commission (if you know both seller and buyer)
Consulting or coaching in a high-demand field
Selling shovels to gold diggers (aka riding the wave of a hot trend)
Self-funding a business with great margins and ready buyers
But all of these depend on you—your skills, network, timing, creativity, and even your character.
Sometimes people don’t really want quick money—they want purposeful provision. They want to do work that feels aligned, impactful, and financially rewarding.
If that’s you, I’d encourage you to step back and consider what God has already placed in your hands. He’s not against wealth, but He is for faithful stewardship.
“The blessing of the Lord makes rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.”
— Proverbs 10:22
That kind of wealth—blessed, not burdensome—often takes time. It’s shaped in seasons of service, skill-building, and solving real problems for people.
Action Step:
Ask yourself: What’s something valuable I already have, know, or do well that others would gladly pay for? Whether it’s insight, a product, a system, or a skill—start from there. Monetize with integrity. Multiply with wisdom. Manage with gratitude.
You don’t have to chase quick cash when God has already equipped you for lasting wealth.
