TLDR: I use multiple banks. Can you guess how many? Each one serves a different purpose. Choosing a bank is about more than hype—it’s part of good stewardship. But there’s one bank that beats them all…
Biblical Inspiration:
"Be sure you know the condition of your flocks, give careful attention to your herds." – Proverbs 27:23 (NIV)
Translation for today’s wealth steward: Know where your money lives, and how it’s being treated. It’s not just about where you bank—it’s about how well you steward what God’s entrusted to you.
The Banks I Trust—and Why
I use multiple banks. Don’t judge me—I promise I’m not laundering money. 😅
Each one has a role.
One’s been with me since I first learned what an ATM was. A family referral. Big name. Global cards.
The next two? A friend in banking nudged me toward one for their credit card service, the other for mobile experience.
The latest? Referred by family for their slick digital tools and smooth banking service.
Looking back, I realise my choices were often based on recommendations from people I trust. But here’s what I now intentionally look out for:
✅ Stability – I favour Tier 1 banks (even though we all know no bank is above risk).
✅ Customer Service – Some big banks treat you like you’re lucky to be there. Others actually serve.
✅ Specialisation – Some banks just get certain products: cards, apps, savings, etc.
✅ Digital Experience – If I can’t transact smoothly on mobile or web, I start looking elsewhere.
✅ Branch Access – When tech fails, can I show up somewhere with my ID and my frustrations?
✅ Value – Do I save money or earn perks from using this bank? If not, I reevaluate.
My rule: if it doesn’t serve me well, I simplify. If it does, I stay loyal.
But here's the fun twist: I also bank with the Kingdom of Heaven Bank.
Now, that account is… different.
🪙 You don’t earn heavenly deposits through flashy apps or referral codes.
🕊️ You build them through faithfulness, generosity, and helping others follow Christ.
🗝️ Security? Top tier. No moths. No rust. No hackers.
💎 Perks? Heavenly. Eternal.
“Store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.” – Matthew 6:20
One day, I’ll check my balance face-to-face with the Banker Himself. Until then, I’ll keep making deposits.
Action Step:
Review your banking setup. Are your accounts helping you steward well, or just store money? And while you're at it... how’s your heavenly balance looking?
Bonus Question:
If you had to stick with just one bank on earth, which would it be—and why?
And what’s one thing you’ll do today to invest in your eternal account? 🤔
